  14. This Tech Tip concerns the ICA (Intelligent Communications Adapter)
  15. cards for Banyan Networks.  The Banyan ICA card requires 128 KB of region 
  16. between the 0 - 16 MB range, which does not decode as system RAM and 
  17. consequently is not cached.
  18.  
  19. This memory area can be provided in two ways:
  20.  
  21. 1.   In 512 KB to 640 KB region, below 1 MB.
  22.  
  23.      This solution has already been released in a previous Tech Tip (TT99.005, dated 9/17/91).  A recap of that solution is listed below:

  32.      In this case, this additional 384 KB memory will be released only when the total system memory is 16 MB.  This PAL will not affect any other memory combinations.

  34. If you plan to use a maximum of 12 MB memory, then this PAL change is not required.

  62. These PALS are not a part of normal production for these series.  They
  63. are available as special request PALS and should be ordered through Sales
  64. or AMI Technical support.
